How do I send money abroad for university fees from Bengaluru?
Share the university's fee invoice and bank details with us. The transfer goes through RBI-authorised banking channels arranged by our forex partner, Richmen Forex Pvt Ltd. You sign Form A2 and get confirmation once the money is sent.
What documents are needed for an education remittance?
Student's passport, admission or offer letter, the university's fee invoice, the remitter's PAN card, and Form A2. If the fees are funded by an education loan, bring the loan sanction letter too.
Is there TCS on sending money abroad for education?
TCS (tax collected at source) can apply to overseas remittances above a yearly threshold under the Income Tax rules, and education funded by an education loan is treated more favourably. We'll show any TCS in your quote before you pay, and it can be claimed back in your income tax return.
What is a student forex card?
A prepaid card loaded in foreign currency for living expenses abroad. It's safer than carrying cash, works at ATMs and shops, and parents can reload it from India.
How much money can a student take abroad?
Under RBI's Liberalised Remittance Scheme, each resident can send up to USD 250,000 a year. Universities may ask for higher amounts to be split across family members' LRS limits.
